Am I right in saying that if I fit an A pillar pod, it will affect the alarm setup, as the sensor points up the A pillar?

Also, what is the difference between an electronic boost gauge and a mechanical? Is one more reliable than the other? Is one more difficult to connect up?

thanks,

Kersh.

Are you talking about a standard nissan alarm(is there one?)? I presume you must be or you would just move the sensors for you new alarm. Cant really see this causing a major problem though, TBH.

Mechanical and electrical boost guages both work in the same way and there isnt any difference in connections etc... , with an electronic boost controller you can alter boost pressure (Apexi AVC-R), called a boost controller. Obviously far more expensive than a mechanical boost guage but at least you can alter your boost pressure whenever you like without getting your hands dirty.

If you can afford ยฃ300, get the electronic boost controller, especially if you plan on keeping and posibly modding the car...

Its a toad c4 alarm, I just bought the car, and I wouldn be confident messing with the alarm setup. But if its easy then Ill try, as the A pillar pods are nice. So i need an electric boost gauge for an electronic boost controller, right? Sorry for the questions, but the road will be long and winding, modifying this thing...... :D

You don't need an electronic boost gauge for a electronic boost controller. I would have thought the electronic ones are better (gauges) however the others work perfectly well, if installed correctly.

An electronic boost controller is worth getting, but make sure you uprate your chip and most importantly make sure your car is in a good state in the first place to start uprating the boost.
