Just after fitting my autobox after its second rebuild in as many years .

Problem is first gear isnt dropping out easily it redlines at 7200 starts heitating 2 or 3 times before finally dropping to second (and not smothly) all other gear shifts are fine.

Any ideas, could it be as simple as TPS or speed/rev sensor circuit, surely these would effect all gears not first.

Any help appreciated

Did the TPS, was outside range. Set it to 0.44v last night and bingo, box good as new.

Do a search on TPS and you will find plenty of info on what wires to check etc

glad to here that mate

saved a few quid then
