Help,

 

Got my ass wipped by warren and his gang. I found my 56k modem no match for their broadband connections.

 

Charaters were appearing in front of me, I shoot and there gone. I get shot by something I cannot see.

 

Are there any modem tuning tips for Unreal Tournament or shall I wait a few years for Broadband to appear in Maldon?

 

I have a 100 meg LAN at home where UT runs fine and I reign in the Eddie household. The refresh of characters is as fast the eye can see.

 

Any tips gladly welcome.

I think there is only one solution, insist on hosting the game on your machine.

well if u use it at home on a LAN then uv prolly got the rate set to LAN in the settings, drop that down to as low as it will go for playing with a modem and it will be much better. It is understandable for your modem to lag when its trying to push out 500KB/s. www.lagless.com i think has a load of modem tweaks

Did change my UT settings for a 56k modem. Will try your link.

I really enjoyed it. Not used to playing normal game though. You should play instagib and fat boy.

Instagib is 1 shot kills and fat boy is the leaders go very fat to make an easier target and the people at the bottom of the league go rediculasly thin.

Very funny.

Oh the sad state of it all, We even got absolutly pasted by the supra guy and the 200 owners whooped us so bad it was scary.

So not only do we drive milk floats, we cant even string a decent UT tornament together wihtout getting whooped lol i gues were are just to slow, he he he.

Ay3388 is a good friend of mine. He is good. When we first got Broadband we spend ages on UT online. We havent played the normal game in ages. We always play Insigib, 1 shot and your dead with a shock rifle type of thing.

We will have to play that next time, its more fun.

We also have LAN parties with close frineds, usually get about 5 of us all linked up playing different games. Any one Got Golden Bear Golf 6? Have a tournament on that, people with slow modems wont suffer either.

when you start a new network game or any game, click mutilators and then select instigib, fatboy good to. Works wekk with the insigib.

If things get despirate I may have to take you up on your offer Craig, my PC will warm your house up nicely.

 

Perhaps instead of a Z meet we can do a UT meet and play on a LAN, things might even up a bit more then.

 

I only have a 4port hub but we could link hubs, or any network boys out there could steal some hardware from their office.

 

Despite only lasting a few minutes I had a good time, got 8 kills. Perhaps we could play with chainsaws only BZZZZZZZZZ kersplattt.

the funny thing is Eddie you wernt doing to badly.

I find on quake you can adjust the rate of your connection to a point. not sure if you can do this in UT

But then again you play it i dotn and i still whooped arse (sorry got my arse whooped)
