On my way to the pub tonight, the wipers on my Z decided to switch themselves on for about 3 minutes, then stopped.

The car is low on washer fluid- is this a reminder to put screenwash in, or is my car possessed?

If so, has anyone got a phone number for a good "GhostBuster"?

Dave,

I have a 1991 UK twin turbo. My front wipers have also started to spontaneous wipe even when turned off. This started when my battery went flat but now that I've replaced my battery I still cannot turn them off!!

Any ideas?

Thanks Dave,

I'm afraid I'm a Z novice, do you reckon I should source a new dash wiper control, or let nissan have a look at it?

I have the same problem, it's a relay in the wiper motor or something, that aparently "goes on all of them" (nissan...) and costs £400 or so for a new one! the best thing to do is to balance the wiper controls in between speed settings (say between normal and fast) and this puts an end to it!

Or visit a scrap yard and get one for a tenner.

Doh!

thanks guys I really appreciate your advise - the 'balancing' trick has worked! But if I want to sort it properly its a new wiper motor I need to get second hand? Does it have to be a 300zx wiper motor or might any other do?

Mant thanks

Paddy
