You will have to excuse my ignorance, having never had a good looks at most parts of a zx until I got mine I have a few simple questions.

 

I took the nose plate off mine today and there is a large cone filter, I am guessing this does not come as standard and has been fitted by a previous owner? What comes as standard?

 

The central locking just packed up, my fuse box is all in japanese, anyone know where the fuse is as I cannot see any blown in the drivers footwell fuse box.

 

I can hear what sounds like a grandfather clock from the top passenger side of the bonnet, any ideas? I though it might be water boiling over but with the car being under warranty I did not want to play.

 

Do the "300zx" words on the rear light up green as standard or has this, again, been fitted by the previous owner?

Well on the first point .. looks like you have a aftermarket filter installed. When I first looked at mine it had an older ARC filter box installed and I replaced it with a blitz SUS.

 

And on the last point, it isn's standard to have 300zx light up. It is a mod you can do and I have it in mine but it doesn't come as standard.

Looks like the last bloke made a few changes then! He also seems to have uprated the suspension as well as the wheels.

I thought all Jap imports light the 300ZX up? Mine does as well... You gotta admit it does like bloody good at night :)

No, not all imports have the green logo. There seem to be quite a lot of them that have though - was it an option? I think there was some debate about the legality of green lighting on the rear of a car too.

 

I have my 300ZX logo light up in red, but only when I brake. I saw the effect with the logo on a Dodge Viper and quite liked the idea. :hyper:

and if you wanna swap your green logod 300zx panal for a standard white non light up one - im your man!!

 

Ive been after one for ages and ages

the lightup 300zx panel was on option on the Jap zeds in 94 on I think.
