Luckily for me its my mates Zed so i have the option to help or be "too busy" ;)

But seeing how im a good natured, frendly, helpfull kinda guy(and modest!) im gonna help him

Good for you mate .. always good to help out a friend ... do a search on heater matrix .. loads of posts on it ...

Sorry I couldn't be of more help mate .. but I have never had that problem .. Hope you get it sorted for your mate.

If it's an auto-easy,if it's a manwell you have to take the pedal box or dash out!

Boldy did his auto one friday night-about two hours IIRC!

HTH ;)

Got to do my one soon too. Let me know how you get on.

The best way to do it imho is to remove the dash , it is possible to do it dash in but a right pita and if you have not done one before you will strugglle with the dash in method.

auto is a piece of cake though on a manual you will have to remove the clutch peddle, one other thing to put on is an earthing strap to the new matrix.

removing the dash is not as hard as it sounds and providing your careful and keep all the bolts with the appropriate parts then you should be ok

one other tip is to make sure you test it before putting the dash back ;)

Go with ryan on this, defo a dash out scenario, even now that I know where all the bits are I would still take the dash out.

I thought the earting strap was a bad idea? I thought just make sure the battery eathing was all good was the way to go as eathing the Matrix itself will only speed up the prosess of corosion as this then becomes the easyest point of earthing?

Hi, just had mine replaced with new core ( not worth fitting 2nd hand), by my local garage. Gave him the guide from the aussie site.

Doing it without removing the Dash.

Did it in a day, said it wasnt easy but worked OK.

Have not had the bill yet so dont what it cost, except for parts which cost £ 140 for Matrix, hoses £29.

They also replaced my rad and put Autobox cooler on a few months back with a 6K service and that cost £78 inc vat. ( I suppllied rad parts which i got from Andyzed)
