Vibration all the time...pops into N at high speed

I think something is up with my auto box :(

I've gone though old threads about vib probs and all seem to be speed/prop shaft related. I feel a vib as soon as I start the car, its there in all gears, I think its still apparant in neutral, will go and check. It comes up through the seat, same as if the wheels arent balanced properly.

Dont know if its related.... Driving at 80mph, floor the throttle, seems to go into neutral, revs shoot up to about 7500, no more power. Throttle back, goes back into 4th, all is fine. Til I try floor it again. Only happens when I'm going fast in 4th.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Sounds like the auto clutch slipping mate. Mine did the same

once. Since dropping the oil pan & cleaning out the autobox

internals, fresh oil. She's been fine.

If you try this you will need a new oilpan gasket (approx £20)

Dexron3 auto transmission oil, i got 7ltrs, but had some left

over as the torque converter holds some anyway.

Easier if you have access to a lift. ;)

Don't want to be a doom monger but I had a constant( not very strong but very noticeable) vibration in all gears including neutral, never really thought it was the autobox. Then the autobox went tits up , fitted another autobox, no more vibration!

mine too and oil smelt bad in the bitter end with no drive then whirring noises.

Sounds like zed autobox failure mode
