well i got my renewal thru for the 200sx daily driver, i was involved in an accident 3 months ago, totally not my fault, other driver took full blame, anyways car got fixed required new front end, then 6 days later a girl reversded into it while it was parked up, saw it happen so again totally not my fault, now the renewal has a highlight bit that says "Bonus reduced pending claim excess ยฃ250 from RNL" is this for real can brokers knock down your NCB for a No claim fault, there asking ยฃ1300 quid for the renewal  i havent had a fault claim ever since i passed my test,

You will have 0 NCB until the issue is sorted out. It happened to my friend a few years ago. Some one drove into the back of him 2 days before his renewal. Upon renewing the insurance company said that they would insure him with 0 NCB until its sorted and then have the rest refunded if found not to be at fault.

Had exactlythe same thing happen to me this year with my dail driver insurance, guy ran into back of me on M25, eight months later they hadnt sorted it out and reduced my 7yrs NCB to 2yrs. I made a complaint about their inaction and they offered me compensation which I insisted was the same mount as I would lose over the next two years. They paid.

Worst thing was I took evidence to the cops of the guy who hit me, showing that he had bought 4 vans from a tader and had, up till then (2 years later) not registered or insured any of them (including the one he hit me with) and they refused to act.

 Tell em to f off change insurance cover dont tell em you had a claim as you have nt. Just move your money. :nono:

Tell me about it. Nearly a year ago an unregistered vehicle scraped my previous car whilst it was parked; someone saw it, and told the police. Eleven months later things are still grinding on; it's unlikely they'll recover any costs, and I'm willing to reimburse the insurance company to keep my NCB as it will work out cheaper, but they will only let me do this once the claim is sorted out one way or the other. Meanwhile they've outsourced a lot of their claims pursual work to a firm of solicitors, who still haven't managed to get a report out of the police - FFS what a massive waste of time and money. If I did my job that slowly I wouldn't have one!

can't really see what the insurance company is doing wrong meself

unless i'm reading it wrong,

you have had an accident, as you say not your fault

so they have give you a quote on your present circumstances, if it shows

it's not your fault, then your insurance will carry on as normal,

they would look pretty silly to give you a quote, and THEN find it was your fault,

can't see it being any different than any of us buying a 5-6 grand car until you've seen it, if its as they say you then buy it

Neil Morris i think you will find ALL insurance companies have ALL info via computer, the same one the police use to see if you actually have insurance

Point is, I'm willing to reimburse the cost of the repair, so effectively I haven't made a claim; and they're willing in principle to let me do this, but not until the present futile investgation is completed, costing themselves and me unnecessary expense in the process.

yep i understand your point m8

i assume they are covering their arses incase of a counter claim maybe?

and i suppose they are not that bothered about getting it sorted, as they're covered both ends:(

both accidents i have were 100% not my fault the 1st one the bloke just pulled in front of me and he admitted it was his fault, the 2nd one i wasnt even in the car, why are they penalising me, i think its just taking the P**s tbh, too right im gonna change insurance companys

Does'nt matter mate, as soon as u admit to an accident...fault or not then your premium is loaded by your insurer (you are 4 x more likely to be involved in an accident....if you have been involved in an accident....blameworthy or not..!!!

WTF!!!!

Trouble is, you dont tell em about it, they find out, cancel your insurance, you try and get some more and they ask 'ever had insurance cancelled/refused....back to square 1.

Best way is to vote with your feet.

Insurance companies like new business as most people just renew without too mutch question (how many times have we done it?) so they give a bit of a discount for the first year or so.

Your call.

i had someone hit my family car and drive off...i contacted their insurer provided witness statements and didnt once give my insurance details...i would have if they had contested it to the hilt..well come to think of it i prob would have sued them first...so in my book if its no fault dont give your details just negotiate direct where you can...hopefully stopping some of the probs mentioned above when alerting one's own insurance co
