My 200SX got eaten from the inside out by rust. By the time it bubbled through it would have cost more to repair than the car was worth.

Any idea how to stop my 300 rusting as winters coming and the roads will be salty?

I saw some underbody wax sprays and ones to go into gaps in doors etc. Are they worth using?

What about spraying WD40 under the car or hosing down the underside regularly?

Any other advice? I can't take my car off the road and can't afford another one.

Thanks!

waxoyle m8, messy to do and a pain in the arse but well worth it

also some places will do it for you, so for the extra few ££'s let them do it

ive always used it for jags, as they hate the british weather, currently got a 1987 xjs, and not a bit of rust, mostly due to waxoyle:)

Cool, thanks.

I might ring round and see if anyone near me will do it.

Is it just the underside or does it go in pannels etc too?

Any idea rough cost for the whole job?

 Dont take it out in the salt  Keep it indoors for the winter :)

yes you can spray it up all the box sections m8, waxoyle also do an underseal

if thats all you want to do, how much? its one of those things m8 ie what car

how many coats, what you want doing, i think the last time i had the jag done it was about £150-£200 including the waxoyle

if you have access to spray guns etc, its not that hard just messy

also just to add m8, IF your able its best to leave the stuff to dry for a day or two, especially if you have good alloys, it will come off ok, but better to let it dry if poss;)

Paint the whole underside with waste oil and grease mixed up once the dirt and dust takes to it it bakes it on! got to be one of the best and cheapest methods of rust control!

clean around the wheel arches etc frequently with a pressure washer during the winter & protect the paintwork with a decent polish

Yes good one,do the same, plus soon as i got my latest Z i got her up in the air and slapped on loads of underseal, messy stuff but worth it.

If you do any of the above mentioned posts you can keep it at bay :)
