Rear shocks..

guys noticed the rubber coming out of the rear o/s shock and the ride seems a bit rougher.

Was gonna jus change the one, get second hand one..would you recommend changing both?

Was initially going to get uprated suspention all round but seeing as im selling her thought id just keep it standard...

if any1 has any spare uk shocks that just happen to be lying around:D could you gimmi a shout...dont want to sell it the way it is:(

An pair of OEM from the Z Centre cost £70, which ain't too bad really...

Reverse switch problem

Me again.
Reverse lights don’t work. Checked the bulbs and the fuse by the drivers pedal, all seem fine.
So I assume it’s the reverse switch. I’ve bought a spare and tried to swap it today. What a pain that is! I failed.

So I have two questions:
Is this possible without dropping the gearbox?
I wanted to test it was definitely the switch before I went crazy getting it out, so unplugged the old one and plugged the new one in, put car in reverse and switched on ignition and then pressed the end of the switch in but it still didn’t turn the lights on. Does the switch work this way? That you can push the plunger end in and it should turn on?

Tyre size recommendations

Cheers all,
I did consider a 225/45/17 but thought that it might be too much chunk on the side wall. But so many more options!
Looking at the calculator, going from a 235/40 to a 225/45 is about 7.5mm more sidewall which isn’t much. Loads more choice too. Think I’ll go for that, thanks for the help

Tyre size recommendations

Use this site or similar to get the rolling circumference difference when you change wheel diameter and tyre profiles.
It will tell you how much the speedo will over or under read, and the difference in overall diameter to work out if they will rub anywhere.

Happy to say work on my engine block is now finished! Billet main caps were found to be up to 4 thou out of round. This time they have been machined using the ARP’s that will be used during assembly (unlike last time by EPR!)

Cylinders were rebored to suit my 88mm CP pistons and cross hatching angle, depth and surface finish all set up for the Total Seal gapless piston ring pack I have chosen to use. I think I’ll be the first person on the UK to use Total Seal’s gapless piston rings on a VG30, so I’m looking forward to seeing if the live up to the hype
