Just to get some facts straight, as long as the bulb inside the clear tail is red it's legal to drive right?

i think the brake lights are legal if they shine red, but the reflectors in the middle of the lights are illegal, as are the side markers, if they reflect white

(in the UK, not sure of US)

Yep, as long as the bulbs shine the right colour and there is a reflector in the brake light, they are legal.

Well i hope so anyway, 'cos thats what i did to mine.
