Auto Electrical Sh1te issue?!? I dunt geddit??

All,

Weird issue here with my passenger side rear light.

Basically, the light doesnt work but the other side does and when I the brake light works fine?!? Just the normal driving light thats the problem?? I checked the voltage and its about 25.1v?!? The other is about 24.8?!? So it has current.

I tested the wires to that bulb with a cold cathode tude running through a transducer??? Dont ask why, but anyway.

The tube onyl half lights using the wires from the faulty side, whereas it lights fully when I used the wires fromt he good side??? WTF??? The voltage is higher ont he dodgy side so why doesnt it work?

I will investigate more tomorrow but I thougt that you guys could perhaps shed some light.....

I could be wrong but dosen't the electrics always have power and when switched on earth goes on? ie: is neg. earth ok.

Just change the bulb on that side and see if its the same.

LMAO, 'm sure its volts?!? Well, has a V next to the number on my multimeter!! lol

Anyway, it now seems its the little black box under the drivers side boot panel that the problem. :)

what your reading aint in volts, or your looking at serious problems for all the other electrics (everything would go pop, ecu's included).

its either a blown bulb/, bad connection or broken wire start at the easiest first.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the little black box you mention is the thing that works out if you've blown a bulb and illuminates the "lights" warning on the dash.

Presume you've tried swapping bulbs, as suggested above?

Yeah, done all the basics to see if the bulbs r the problem, they've all been tested, even used new bulbs but no good.

The black box should arrive tomorrow, spoken TO JeffTT and he thinks this is likely to be the problem. Its too weird a problem to be as simple as a bulb....
