Started to notice a strong smell of fuel in my car, but it seems only in the mornings. I have searched and its usually the old fuel pipes getting on, but i had new braided ones from smithy fitted 2 months ago. would there be anouther pipe it could be.

As it gets cold the rubber contracts so fuel can seep out at the hose joints until the car warms up.

Go round and tighten up all hose clamps you can see. That usually cures it.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Yip, I did mine at the weekend and its sorted it. There are also some fuel pipes under the plastic cover on the engine, if ya havent tried them!

Just noticed that on mine this morning...thought it was my zippo LOL

Thanks for the tips :)

I had this problem for a couple of years but never found it, it only happened when it was cold, it finally got fixed when I had a new engine fitted, I suppose the mechanic must have refitted the poor join.

Clamps on rubber hoses to fuel rails. Usualy the rear 2 but sometimes the front 2 as well. Remove the throttle cover and do the clamps up...
