Paid £35 for 45:51 litres of Optimax today thats 76.9 a litre is good or average.

Having been unsure of any improvement with Optimax had a tank of norm unleaded ARRGHH glad thats gone back to the dear stuff. yum,yum Jeff TT

I think it's 80.9 per litre here. I've given up and gone back to ordinary unleaded at 72.9

Its 74.9 at my local Shell.

err dunno theres no shell garages around here, the esso normal stuff was 71.3 last time i went past, but that was a while ago

I went over to Optimax last week, basically super was sometimes getting out of hand (86p at one shop, 83 normally) and super is being phased out by some (maybe all???) garages, like BP.

 

Anyhow, Optimax is 98 octane which is more than super and typically 5p more than unleaded, not 8-10p like super.

 

So far so good.

Yes the UK government is trying to phase out Super Unleaded. So in a few years it will be illegal.

Just in case anyone else gets caught out, Q8 garages sell normal unleaded for average price but super is extortionate.

 

Their billboard said unleaded at 72.9 but didn't mention supoer. I filled up with super only to then realise that they were charging 94.9 (NOT A MISTYPE!) for super !!!

http://www.ispypetrol.com/ is always useful. Finds the cheapest fuel in a given postcode. Doesn't seem to fill you mailbox with spam either !

i am hooked on optimax, my cars ecu loves it lol. It really has made a huge difference to my car.Near me in Sutton it is 79 p a litre.

69.9 for normal, 79.8 for super, there aint an option for optimax, I hope they make one

Oddly enough I submitted that idea to them only recently.

Optimax comes under Super.

Basically if a Shell garage comes up under Super, its Optimax
