Hi,

Any other z31 owners in the Northwest? I see most people here have z32's.

Attached is a picture of my car. I've been considering selling it, because of the insurance, but I've spent soo much money on it

This is mostly a Z32 forum but we welcome people with any Z. :D

THat is a nice one. I saw my first one in the close up a few months ago at the last northwest meeting and I can see the appeal of them.

How much is your insurance? I see you are on the canal there, is that right in the middle of Manchester?

Do you insure it as a classic? Many places will do so if you have a 2nd car.

My insurance is just under £2k, with elephant :| I'm fairly young though, and my postcode is bad. I'm not in the centre, right on the m60 actually.

I tried lancaster classic car insurance, and they were still pretty high. it's strange really... I'm not sure what the age requirement is to be classic. Tax exemption is like 25 years isn't it? Insurance wise it seems pretty vague. If I can't find a cheaper option soon, I'll probably be forced to sell.

Hmm, I just looked at these Haughton insurance folks in the trade section. I'll give them a ring tomorrow, and see if they can insure z31's at a good rate.

Classic car rates are usually on cars over 10 years old, though a lot of places will need you to be over 25 years old to have a policy (Houghtons may not, however).

Tax exemption on cars used to be on cars over 25 years, but IIRC the government decided to make more money on us by making it a fixed point instead of a rolling 25yrs, so it's now only cars manufactured before 1976..
