Does anyone know if and where i can get just the bearings in the two cambelt idlers replaced? I don't think they have gone but while i have the engine in bits i may as well make sure.

Cheers

James

I tried sourcing these from various bearing suppliers about a year ago. After mucho pfaffing about they eventually came back with the answer that they were a 'protected' part (think that was the expression they used), meaning that although they could trace the part number and the manufacturer they couldn't supply them as the manufacturer would only release them to the car/component manfacturers! Might be worth trying again, don't suppose they stay 'protected' forever.

Do you remember an of the companys you spoke to? I don't mind trying to find out a bit more, but have no idea were to start!

The company I tried was BRT bearings. if you look in your yellow pages under bearing stockists you'll find a local supplier. Did you try Courtesy or MJP, do they only supply the idler assembly?

I Have written to Mike at MJP and am awaiting a reply. I have also had a search on the www and found a company called 'whslparts' they do a timing belt kit for about $191 and i'm waiting on the shipping cost.

I will try a local bearing shop and see is they can do anything.
