now call me a speed freak and power hungry but i just want more :xxx:

ive just bought a boost controller, and with my apex'i induction kit and apexi' bov's on the way, the question is how much boost is safe without causing detonation on the standard tubs and IC's

any ideas?

not a lot without a new ecu chip! get a JWT (or other vendor) chip or go the easy route and get a swap out ECU from chris at get greddy and you should be set for 14psi + , When ryan has the spare time to fit my EBC I'm gonna try running 14psi on the "high" setting with the get greddy ecu. from everything I've been told it should be fine!

Hello mate, mine is running a 'mines' ecu (recently fitted), 1mm

boost jets, 12.5 psi. Works lovely for me!

As you have a boost controller, you wont be needing boost jets.

Before all this, have a conzult done, make sure its running right

before you start squeezing more power out, otherwise things

may start to go wrong (£'s)! Oh....and get that heater matrix sorted ;)

Im running a GReddy BC, JD chip, Blitz SUS, standard tubs and IC's

Im happy to get 15psi but it's the injectors that struggle at over 15psi.

Rich

sweet, im right in saying it runs 12 standard???

9.5, isn't it?

Good advice from Simon there  in terms of having the car checked out first before trying to push more power out of the old girl.

Upgrade ECU first to account for increased fueling/air requirements. And the stock injectors max out at 15psi boost beyond which you start to do serious damage to the internals of the engine.

Every car/engine is different from the next and it may be that one car is happy at 14psi whereas the next starts detting at 13.5psi.

Cheers,

Danny
