Ok, dont beat me up for it but I am thinking about selling the Zed!! :x:

I have the chance to get a low milleage Impreza WRX at a price I don't think I can refuse. But I cant really justify having another car without selling the Zed. Hope you guys can help me decide!

Its a 1991 NA Auto, pearl paint, leather interior, about 70k miles, totally standard (I have 18" alloys on it but I was planning on putting the standard ones back on). For pics see here...

I mentioned to a guys at work that I was thinking about buying a WRX and he offered to buy my car instantly for £3500, what do you guys think? am I selling myself short on this one? or is that a pretty good price?

...if I didn't already have one, I'd certainly give you 3.5k for it. Looks great.

good luck

ps you'll move from the elite of Z ownership into the every-day common or garden Ur a Bus ownership, and you won't be able to remove the roof. Mind you, up in Edinburgh maybe removing the roof is not as much an option as it is here in sunny East Anglia.

thanks for the advice guys, and yeah you are right, I probably am a fool for considering moving away from Zed ownership... But here is my logic (or lack thereoff :) )

1. its coming up for winter (some would say its already here) and the occasions where you can take the roof off (and not look desparate, like the fools in there brand new 318 or 9-3 convertables trying too look cool in their brand new car on a freezing winters day, shivering with the roof down:) ) will be few and far between over the next 6-8 months.

2. Again, winter is comming up, and me and my girlfriend are moving house. Our new place is near the top of a massive hill, and as you rightly point out ;) , it can get pretty chilly in Edinburgh over winter, and I know we will get a good few inches of snow lying on the streets. My worry is that the Zed with its wide tyres, rear wheel drive and sheer bulk will be get me stranded either at the top of the hill in my driveway. Or worse, at the bottom of the hill on my drive home from work... Where a 4WD Impreza would come into its own.

3. I have not spend loads of cash modding the car, so I would not make a huge loss if I were to sell it. And knowing what I now do, when I decide to get another Zed, I should be able to find and buy a sorted TT (which, if I'm honest is the one that all N/A owners would really rather have, insurance dependant, I am only 23 mind)

4....Help, part of me does not want to sell the ZED, try to convince me to keep her!!!

If any of you know Impreza's well maybe you can help me out. Its a 1994 WRX, M-reg, 5 door in silver, done 45000 miles, and its totaly standard appart from having the gold wheels (this maybe standard but im not sure). What do you think its worth? I've been told I can have it for £3200, which would leave £300 to get an exhaust to free the boxer burble :)

If anyone know's of anything that I should look out for, or better yet of a buyers guide for WRX's, please let me know.

Cheers.

you dont have to justify the zed - it cant be justified :D :D

regards,

alex
