Ive noticed that after driving my car for a while the feel of it changes. the only way to eplain would be to say it feels like somebody has put a tight spring on the accelerator. it just feels bogged down.

it not going into safty boost and the timing is still spot on as im driving with the conzult plugged in. its recently had a service and all plugs were changed. the fuel filter was also changed.

its a TT auto with no 2nd gear at moment, but its 1st that shows up the issue.

is this normal or its it summat wrong.

The Conzult can not tell you what the exact timing is, the base timing has to be set up using a timing strobe etc , the conzult will always read 15 TDC regardless of what timing your base is at.

If you are already having gearbox issues it could well be that causing the trouble, although you are not in safety boost do you know what boost you are running ???

When i was having saftey boost issus, the timing changed on the conzult as it went to 35bdtc on idle. i do think i have a boost leak as there is a whistling sound under acceleration which seems too loud to be normal. have to wait till the box goes in and go from there.

Have a chat wiv BazzaJG too, he has an auto and complains (constantly to be honest) of the power fluctuating. It maybe a similar issue that if/when either of you sort...can pass on the info to the other!

Just a thought.

I dont complain that often :) Yeah have similar problems, seems fast, but just pulls strong, then other times pins you in the seat. Phil at C & S Woods has looked at it and not found anything wrong. Its been on Conzult, no errors found. Not sure if its a slow auto box etc. Plan to get it looked at later in the yr, if not early next yr. Sorry cant be more help.

Barry.

The reading given by the conZult for timing is what the ECU is trying to achieve. As long as the base timing (15 deg BTDC) is set correctly then the timing the conZult reports should be what is read from the crank. IE while it was reading 35btdc, then a timing light should show the crank timing at 35btdc... Make any sense? Its difficult to describe LOL
