:D 6 out of 10 aint bad and still going.....lol but already Manwel.....;)

So you would put a boost controller on before the NA to TT conversion? ;) Or is it in no particular order?

Cant think of 10 things, but the best/cheapest upgrade/mod

i've made to mine has to be Pete Shrimps grounding kit, the

car just works better! Would recommend this to anyone, easy to

fit too. :)

apexi powerflow induction souds sweeeeeet

single exhaust

shortshifter even though since fitting gearchanges seem more difficult less leverage io spose

Single exits do sound awesome, i've got a hks s'drager. Burbles

away lovely on tickover, then changes to a deep 'growl' on

acceleration. Just look a bit weird from behind, as there is a

'cutout' in the bumper for the other pipe!

1) Max power sticker

2) glowy windscreen washers

3) neons under the car

4) picknick table spoiler

5) "on a mission" window sticker

6) fuzzy dice

7) silver dragon graphics down the side of the car

8) corner splitters (lord knows what these are for, seen em in harry halfords though)

9) coat hanger aerial

10) fooking england flag hanging out of every window

Although I hate to admit Shrimpy does anything worthwhile :D his grounding kits are good!

I think worthy contenders for the TOTB are HID Kits (see Chris at Get greddy) and Racelogic traction Control, althought the car I experienced it in seem to lose drveability a bit, but I suppose the settings can be changed!

your short shifter mod for £20 is that just a case of repositioning the base mount or creating a longer throw below the gearlever

Dont know whether this counts as a mod but it is highly advised that all Zed owners do this (if not done allready) , it is a very good idea at this time of year to put some mesh or something similar in your front air scoop/ram and in the intercooler vents to stop all those leaves, newspaper and Tesco carrier bags ! etc getting in and blocking your rad/intercoolers.

:nono: Mesh acts as a solid sheet once you get up to speed so you'll have virtually no airflow over the ICs!

Really?!?!?!? oh poo... so everybody with a '99 spec front end with the grills should loose them for better cooling? nuts.. they look really smart too. :(

does that also mean that removing the mesh from the MAF is a good idea? (sorry I know this one has been covered a bit before just dont remember a conclusion...)

thats interesting what do you base this on squire? -not having a pop just wondering whether I should de-mesh my bomex front end??

Well since no-one else has jumped in I'll have a pop at the physics-

Mesh is basically material with holes in, so the air heading towards a bit of material has to divert around in order to go through a hole. If you're going slowly, there's plenty of time for the air to wander around, but as you increase speed then there's less time for the air to make its diversion. This leads to increased pressure in front of the mesh in order to force the air through. This pressure forces air that would otherwise flow through the bumper to the ICs to take an alternative route altogether, therefore less airflow to the ICs.

That's how I see it anyway! :D

The question is do you purely maximise your setup for airflow, or do you sacrifice some of that airflow to physically protect your ICs/rad.

The biggest difference I've noticed in terms of performance are :

1) Chip and Boost upgrade

2) Under drive pulley

3) Apexi Induction

4) Straight through decat zorst

5) R33 Brake upgrade with portfield pads

6) Short shifter

7) Adjustable Rose Jointed Tension Rods

8) Greddy SMICs

9) Howe Rad

10) Blitz Shocks

If this is the case then why do intercoolers and radiators have metal fins between each row ?. Surely this would have the same effect ?. If this is the case why didn't they just leave the fins out completely ?

Rads and ICs are a compromise- they're designed to strike a balance between airflow and heat dissipation. Yes, fins impede airflow but they aid dissipation.

The point here about mesh is that you're putting in additional resistance.

Tis indeed true all this talk about mesh and resistance at high speed etc...simple solution would be to not put mesh small holes in but something that stikes a compromise....larger holes in mesh, but enough to stop tesco bags + leaves etc.

classic example of air resistance in a mesh would be the circular holed pattern mesh...complete waste of time that! large flat surfaces, small holes.

large diamond cut holes seem to be the best solution...:)

Hmmmmmm such a difficult decision i think my best mods must be :

10) My Tubos

9) SHOX and springs coz my fat bulbous ass wore out the old un's

8) My NOS bottle, with that i can keep on laughing even when i think of the thousand of pounds i wasted on useless mods.

7) Selling a kidney on the Eastern European black market to pay my Nissan bill

6) Dumping my fat ass girl friend who was slowing the car down.

5) My Anti Duff filter Hohohoho :)

4) My Poogeout to actually drive 90% of the time

3) My personal Minder to protect me from all the mean 300zx.co.uk death threats

2) My REX :o :) :)

1) My frontal labotamy to prevent furhter extending my insatiable need for unatainable power ...drooooooool

Ohhh dude you know i can't resist heheh :)

Your car is looking sweet in the sig bud - it finally running now ?

The tarmac on my driveway under mine is 5 shades darker than the rest :(

I have the spares i need just need to find the time....

LOL it was, then it wasn't, then it was, now it isn't again :D

http://www.z32.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/andycar.html oooops :D Split an actuator line and hit ~22psi+ LOL so drove it down like that, raced it like that, then drove it back like that... All good fun :D

I pulled a dead squirrel out of my IC ducts once

My intake temps went up by 2 Degrees  , i have been looking for a replacement ever since

Ah but that was an 'cooling squirrel ™' :D Once they die, they use the furr of these to make insulation wrap to keet under bonnet temperatures down ;)
