bugger the two cones for now :)

After another morning of phone calls, i've gone for a single 'mother' airfilter.

I was also told to keep it as close to the sensor as poss - right or wrong ?

In sheer desparation the result is in my rides. 80mm direct inlet, and when it arrives a pipercross 250mm mushroom.

Pipercross any good or not? It was the biggest I could sourse today frown.gif

Sorry about the pic by the way, cameras on the blink frown.gif

Fuck the mushroom sponge Harve, just run it with that mother on...MEAN! wink.gif

Harve m8 - I've run PiperX filters on both my Renaults, significantly better power than a K&N cone in both cases (and nicer noise)

Filtration isn't as good though, as AndyP will no doubt point out biggrin.gif

Never did my 5 or my 19 any harm however. Perhaps a little compressor blade erosion over time (lots of time)..

What is the opinion on these ram trumpets & covers, that are available pants or ok. As I was shown a set today, never seen them on a road car before. All look & no gain perhaps! whos had one before or knows more about them?

My mates Lotus sunbeam has a pipercross spongy thing on it. That shifts & sounds awesome.

pipercross have a really good reputation, never actually heard anything bad about them, so you go girl, i mean boy biggrin.gif

want to see pics asap.

Harve, nice pic, but how thick is the base plate on AFM meter adapter, cos you know it needs to be completly flat, no warps, no matter how slight, 1st lot i done were 3.5mm but after cutting and welding etc, she warped slightly, so be careful, nice though.

Smithy

S/s is the most prone to distortion as you said, when pre heated correctly and using a pulse draw inverter - no filler wire required & so perfect fusion of parent metal, & a tool made to house 3.2 plate + holster housing ensures less than 2% distortion over % of distnce smile.gif expensive but incomprable.

I really wanted a gause filter - what can you do one for Smithy, piper where the biggest i could find at a days notice, price please.

harve

Harve, our cones are full stainless with excact same properties as Blitz, can do ANY size diameter and outlet too, retail on the size you got would be around £70.00, good shit though and look well sexy, should be at RR day on 24th with me twin kit. Smithy

Smithy how do you rate the ram trumpets !!!

& curved houseings? I saw a set today - all show, or good?

1 to 5 trumpets could be used, either flat or in an arc, with the different size 'huge' filters to suit, as the car builds hp?

I saw a set today very impresive but dont know squat about them. Or anyboby else of corse say what you know.

Thanks for a lot of input guys.

harve.

What am i, bloody tech expert, lol. no seriously i've always tinkered in turbo motors mainly nissans too, so don't know much about trumpets, socks etc, sorry, smithy
