Any help would be great.

I had to wire in a rear fog light with it's own switch on the dash for the MOT. That went great it works good, but problems has now started.

When i turn off the ignigtion totally all the little lights on the dash start to flash and also the front main fog stays on.

But when the ignition is turned on i have none of these problems except my main fog light switch does not work at all.

Very confused.

something is backfeeding down the circuit.

how did you wire it in??

I Just joined it to the cd player's live and negative, to the switch then direct to the rear fog lamp and took the rear fog lamp's negative from the amp.

Is that whats causing it?

mmmmm does music come out of it now

????

right - basic electric circuit here, you would take a 12v feed, usually from the light switch so it only comes on when the lights are on, to one side of the switch, out of the other side of the switch to the fog lamp to the bulb then down to earth.

12v-------------switch-------------bulb------------earth

ps, if its an illuminating switch then the illumination side of the switch will need an earth too ;)

Whoa!-Disco fogs anyone??

bit of a thread hijack, my car has had the fog light is switched on my using the standard front fog switch, at the moment the switch turns on both the front and rear fogs which I'd assume is an MOT failure, if I whip out the relay/fuse for the front fogs so the switch just does the rears that should pass right? front fogs not a requirement if memory serves?

Don't think they are a requirement bud,but if fitted must work correctly.

The way i wired is:

12V and -VE going to switch then 12V from switch to Rear fog which is earthed also.

Is that not right? Doea it matter where i get the 12V or -VE feed?

it will matter where the 12v & earth go to on the switch, it sounds like youve earthed the wrong part of the switch, ie not the illumination circuit!

It passed the MOT so problem over, the light will be coming back out.

Thanks Guys for your help.

Cheers

Paul
