twin air cones

Hi guys,

When fitting an upgrade air take that eliminates the hole std box, what do I do with the sensor wires to stop it going into safty mode?

A diagram of the loop out or reconnections

would be pukka.

cheers harve

Nah, stainless ones, mesh has supreme filtering qualities and gives less internal air restriction than any other, often getting a completly different sound than normal cotton gauze type, if yer interested can do a couple for around £150.00 the pair, name yer size and outlets diameter. Smithy

ok, mesh maybe - but by who?

I've been quoted '£42 each' 80mm intake

by 150 long by 100 dia & there cyclone, but not that glamourous. But good speck.

any pics mate.

All ears & eyes as I need to do asap biggrin.gif

Heh.. Warren .. you've changed your tune!!! I seem to remember telling you exactly the same thing about Single air intakes.

Guys theres another option. Get LINK computer w MAP sensor that way you can dump the air flow sensors altogether and not have to worry about getting the pain in the ass things wet (I had one get wet in the middle of fucking nowhere in the pissing rain going dark.. killed the car... no go.. $260 towing charge. I then found out if I had of unplugged it I could of limped home under 2500rpm...arrggghh.... )

My plan shortly is a link computer with map sensor, and make a dual air intake system but no dummy maf's or anything like that, just two pipes off to each side, two air intakes and thats it. Simple. Effective. Reliable. Sorted !!!!

I've seen dual air intake systems w the MAS moved to one side, and with the idle drivability kit have the odd problem which you eliminate by going to the whole MAP sensor route.

An Ampli-OP will NOT work, as the output of the MAF is NOT LINEAR (don't ask me how I know).

That is..if you flow TWICE the air through the AFM, the output will NOT be twice as much.

The ONLY way to deal with that.

Have some external "intelligence"...i.e. an external box

Reprogram the Stock ECU to "linearize" a non linear signal, double it...and de-linearize it.

Zee you

get a Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor (MAP) w either the full LINK computer, or just the LINK MAP-AFM adaptor module. The only concern then is if you exceed 2 bar (LOL).

You can then have single or twin intakes as you wish.
