hey all,

 

a noise im not to familiar, or confidence enspiring has popped its ugly head up

 

at the 0 mark on the boost gauge, mines the standard jap one in that wierd measurment, i get a funny humming/whirring noise :confused:

and it doesnt sound like a good one. ive owned several different turbod cars, and never heard it before, and it only seems to have appeared after a recent oil change

 

does any body have the foggyest idea what i might be

'fraid I can't offer any advice, but can sympathise - I get this noise too, and always have, but don't know what it is. I just boot it past the '0' mark and it goes away :D .

My tubbies on one of my z's make a whirring noise when they spool up....

Hello mate, do you have an aftermarket filter?

Sounds like the filter ''sucking'' air to me :confused:

I've got a blitz filter on mine, makes a lovely noise

when the tubs spool up! If its still a standard air box,

check the lid hasn't come loose...then go & buy an

aftermarket filter anyway!

Sounds like "goosehonk" to me.. Usually when you have an aftermarket filter fitted...

Mine was caused by knackered Reserc dump valve.

The Apexi induction came tops in the independant test + its cheeper

 

The Apexi Bovs are simpler to fit, come as a complete kit, are almost £300 cheeper for the pair (cost about £350), do just as good a job, sound tops and look the dogs dagglies.

Arnt HKS filters sponge? and if they are the osition of them in the Zed will mean the never properly dry out as the get wet easily. this could then muck up your AFM.

dont think the hks mushroom for the z is any good due to were the filter sits but hks make some other nice things exhausts.tub timers etc etc

well ive got the hks super drager exhaust so i was going to go with the hks theme, but i have been told that apex'i was the mutts nuts for the zed, but was quoted silly money for the bov's, 550 quid if i remeber. does anyone on the site supply the induction kits and bov's, apexi ones that is
