Key Lock Adapter...

what is the 'key lock adapter' for?

just ripped it out of car in an attempt to disengage the push button on the steering column - fed up with sitting in car and waiting for turbo timer to count down, bloody inconveniant when you just pop into a shop...

Any advice on what the KLA is for?

Any advice on how to disable the push switch?

cheers robb

i would liek to knwo about something like that, my turbo timer is pretty cool , but anoying sometimes

There is a solenoid somewhere around there that keeps the key locked into the barrel.. If you disable the solenoid you can remove the key with the car running.. It doesn't have to specifically be round in the "remove" position..

Does mean you can take it out while driving though! Which is kinda odd.... But fun.. Lol

huh, but i can remove my key from the car and it still runs.... anyway? until the timer is finished.

If you can remove your key anyway, why the;

If you take the steering cowl etc off to gain access to the ignition barrel the soleniod is a very small part included in the mechanism,however a two wire fly lead come off this so either disconnect it or cut and make safe,now the solenoid can not operate so key removal will be possible when turbo timer running. OK chaps, how do I lock my doors when I get out and the turbo timer is running? the previous owner removed the (manual, in door) lock mech and it can only be opened and locked with the toad immobilzer.

And the Toad immobilizer doesnt like locking up my car when the turbo timer is controlling the engine ??

Grr. Patience I guess is the answer here or can toad alarms be told to just lock the doors and not immobilze the engine (say for safety when I nip out the get some cans of special brew and 20 Berkeley at the local spar shop)?

hehe smile.gif

Annoying push switch now removed, I can finally leave car (with keys) whilst engine is still running....

Thank you JeffTT for location; if anyone else is intersted in doing it - very simply cut black wire that connects to solinoid nd hey presto it's done biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
