Hi, I've got the chance to get a TT at a good price, but it has some probs.

Its been bumped at slow speed and its bent the front bumper, dented the bonnet and dented the wing, along with cracking one of the headlights. Its an auto, recently rebuilt engine and gearbox with silicon hoses and some other minor mods. The car has no mechanical damage, only bodywork, question is, how much am I looking at to get replacement parts assuming that they cant be knocked back into shape by a body shop.

So, if your collective experience, how much for the bonnet, wing and headlight? or would it be a better idea to transfer the engine into my NA.

Any advice welcome.

Cheer.

check andyz or petrol head site in the traders section petrol head north west deff got the parts

thanks for getting back to me guys, really sounds as though its going to be worthwhile getting this thing, as long as the mechanical side is as good as its reported to be....famous last words anyone?

So how much do you reckon a TT, auto,2+2, t-bar, that needs a new bumper, headlight, wing and bonnet be worth, assuming its in otherwise good condition?

if i was selling it 5 grand lol

but its deffo a buyers market at the moment, having said that, be very careful buying a Z on its cheapness, could end up costing you serious money,

and a lot of grief, IF its as good as he says, then don't be put off by a few bends, lol im sure after my post your MORE confused

I dunno if you can just put a TT engine in an NA.

I think other stuff (gearbox, brakes etc) are different too. People have done it but there may be more to do that just swop engines.

cheers, If the cost of the parts to repair it is only about £400-500 I would forget the idea of an engine transplant and instead sell my car and repair the TT..... But, unless its a good deal (ie Bargin :hyper: ) it might be an easier option to just buy a good TT anyway, like you say, from looking at the price of the Zeds on this board, its a buyers market at the moment.

So, the question is, what would be a bargin for a car in that condition.

you dont say what year m8?

but if its 90-93 ish, then anything up to 2 grand would be a bargain,

IF your only spending the above on the bodywork

sorry, its a 1990, meant to have done 55000 miles, but its an import so no guarantee, could be triple that for all i know.

like any car m8

you can generally tell if its REAL high mileage, unless someones gone to bother of replacing everything which i doubt

ie steering wheel wear

pedal wear, door handle wear, seat wear (although most z's have some)

generally look at the common sense things m8;)

that reminds me, my steering wheel is kinda worn and rough at the top, but my NA is really quite low milleage and the rest of the interior is almost mint. I assumed that the wear was from the sunlight through the windscreen. Anyone else had or noticed this problem?

mine is low mileage and also had wear, as you say the sun

plus if the same person has drove it for a few years, they tend to hold the wheel in the same place, i swopped mine for a momo, and the feel is A LOT better
