Mac have you driven your car much since the engine re-build ?? or finished running it in yet ??? I really wanna see that baby launched to satisfy my curiosity more than anything just to see what kind of Torque, BHP and 1/4 mile times it will put out.

Are you gonna take it up to Thor to get it on the Dyno and get some figures ? or tweek around with it until any minor teething problems are sorted and it's all set up A1 ??? Let me know as I am sure that you are aware there are a lot of peeps on here who also are curious as to how it is going....

No I have not driven it much thats because I have not got it back LOL,when I get a few thousand miles on the clock that is when the fun will start, race fuel and some secret tyres will be used on this baby, not opticraps and road tyres;)

Won't be going any where near Thor, only PeterR will be setting this car up...................FACT:D Don't worry you will be the first to know when she heads to the strip for some practice times;)

Secret tyres as in slicks ?

LOL Yes mate,no one on here has ever tried that,it WILL take over a second off your time.

Yep, got mine on order :). When I've finished my car and run it it (it it makes it that far lol). I'm going to take a set of slicks on 15's to the track and see what the difference between the run with Road tyres and slicks is.

I guess the more power you are pushing, the greater requirement for slicks.

Will you be changing your suspension for the strip too or are you going to set it up once and leave it ?.

i was always running slicks what are you talking about

PMSL Yea but yours had wires hanging out mate

Set it up for the strip mate;) as soft as you can on the fronts and firm at the rear.

Better get some rear cradles then to keep it from back flipping

you could get Peter to drive it and knock another 2 seconds off your time then :) ;)

funny, i thought it was the other way round, to give "squat" at the rear to get the weight transferred for traction???

I'll stick whup yo' ass Mac ;)

youre gonna "whup" Mac's ass with a stick?!?!?

Mac, run your fronts at about 40 psi so they are nice and hard and your rears at approx 10 psi. Trust me with a slick and a deeper tyre wall when your rears start to spin up with them being softer they will grip better and launch you to the moon.

Trust me on this one, in my V8 Chevy I run her down the strip at 4 psi in the rears all of my mates that all drag race professionally run at 4 psi. I thought they were winding me up at first but hey it works, I reckon start at 10psi and see how she is if you experience any tyre shake just re-inflate up or down in 0.5 psi increments until you find the optimum psi...

Obviously you will need to buy a good quality fine calibrated Digital PSI Meter but they are worth the £40-£50 you will pay for one. Even a £15 Halfords Digital PSI meter that registers 1 psi increments will be accurate enough.

ok, just doesnt sound right. i mean if the rear end is firm, its gonna prevent the weight being transferred to the rear.

but if thats what the mighty Zhound says who am i to argue  :D

If he tells me to Paul, he's bigger than me :p

Oh no I am NOT!
