Like the other thread, but who has the lowest recorded milage- there is/was a convertible sludge brown on the Autotrader with a claimed 2000 miles on the clock. I bought mine with 15 thousand on the clock. I have more than doubled that in a year and feel quite guilty about it now. So mine's now about 32. Who has lower?

Featured Replies

mine wasent as low as that but it had 46k on the clock now has 52k

4k in 8months ;) thats what iv spent also

Yep i got lower!.......31k on the clock but dont know if it's legit' tho (import).

bought it with 28 on the clock 3 years ago. has 32 on it now

4k in 3 years????? Now I AM feeling guilty. There's something 'magical' about getting a car that's SUPPOSED to have more miles on it, but hasn't - like it is some kind of sleeping beauty and has been holed up in a garage somewhere for 14 years. Maybe it's asking for the engine to be ****ed spending most of it's time trundling to Osaka Golf Course and back, Then I go and use it to death.

There was a US TT for sale about a year ago on Ebay which has delivery milage on it. :D

Do people remember that? I think it went for $25,0000

Got mine with the standard import 50k miles

Have done about 11k in just over a year.

Yeah funny how the Japs are only able to do 50K miles in a car. ;)

People are always saying they are so honourable and honest and would NEVER clock a car. Is it true? Or just a myth to sell 'low milage' cars?

I think from the condition of the suspension and underside of the car it had never been out in the rain or gone further than the 15k on the clock, but I'm no expert.

Yes - I know what you're saying. And there's no history or comeback with some British fool buying their old crap. I've got a thick service log book, but it might be all rubbish- I'm not too good reading Japanese. I suppose you have to go on the condition of the car not the milage.

TBH If it looks good and runs like you think its done 15k then it either has, or its been very well looked after so either way its a good car. :)

I believe the Japanese are pretty honest people who would not generally "clock" their cars....

....but I don't trust the British trade buyers at the Japanses auctions not to do it once they have bought the cars ;)

Just my opinion - there are a few decent honest importers out there (Kent Terry at Jap City for one) who only buy and re-sell genuine cars

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
