Struggling to get the idle correct.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is my set up.

SS Exhaust,

DoolZ induction with 2 A'PEXi filters,

555cc injectors,

Forged Pistons,

Lightened pulley.

New ECU chip set for 555cc and dual air intake.

I have just finished a rebuild, the engine runs great but I cant get the idle right. The timing is correct and everything is connect correctly and the ECU check gives no error.

No matter what I try I can not get the idle to its correct setting. Its hovers around the 550-600rpm mark.

Reving the engine is great, very smooth and responsive.

The idle screw does nothing no matter which way I turn it.

I am begining to wonder whether the chip is set up for Dual POP. If I cover the filter with the dummy MAS the revs pick up. If I cover the MAS with the real MAS the engine stalls which is expected.

Does that sound correct to you? Would a chip set up for a single POP be able to actually run a Z with a dual POP.

If it is not the chip, any ideas on how to make my idle a little higher.

Thanks

Stuart

Ahhaaaaaaa, I see, Stu is taking back door advice eh? Crafty! :)

he will be bust dodging player rats in his megathron in ds-lo3 right now so he wont have time to be reading the forums.....see you tonight for covert ops testing m8

LOL, no I was looking for you on Messager to ask you cos none of these mear mortals would know. Plus my internet has been down for a week or so and work has banned me from using 300ZX.co.uk (on some computers anyway), so that was the only place I could get to ask.

Now that my net is back I can get on here.

Does any one have the answer?

LOL Stuart ;)

When you were adjusting the idle screw did you have the idle valve disconnected?

Mac, change the record  ;)
