I was on my way to Southport in my Fiat Bravo on saturday to see some mates and was going accross the Hightown bends (Anyone round this area will know that they are really slippy when wet) and they got the better of me.
The rain was pissing it down and i was proceding with caution, only doing 25 around a right hand corner when my front wheels hit a pile of mud in the road which i didnt see, anyway they started spinning but unfortunatly the car carried on going forward. I managed to force the steering to full right lock and put my foot down to try and pull the front of the car to the right to avoid the big fooking ditch infront of me! Luckery the car just bounced off the curb and came to a stand still in the road.
I got out and went to inspect the damage and my wheel was at a very different angle to the other 1. The top of the wheel is leaning out firther than the bottom and the back of the wheel is further in the arch so the nearside front wheel is always pointing to the left.
Anyway i put the space saver on and drove home soaking wet and my heart in my mouth thinking if i had just slammed on the brakes i would have probably skidded straight over the curb into the ditch with a barb wire fence over it!
Just wandering what is more than likely to be fooked on the car, i know i need a new wheel but nothing LOOKS to be bent around the strut and the driveshafts etc.
Its getting looked at tomorow anyway and im hoping il just need a new strut and the tracking realigned.
But a warning to all those, take it easy on the hightown bends.
Hey guys,
I was on my way to Southport in my Fiat Bravo on saturday to see some mates and was going accross the Hightown bends (Anyone round this area will know that they are really slippy when wet) and they got the better of me.

Regards a very shaken up Dan.
