Standard ZX wheels/tyres loosing pressure.

Lads, I have noticed that my "new to me" Z is loosing pressure in each tyre on a daily basis.

I know wheel should not do this but have any of you guys experienced this? Is it a typical Z wheel thing?

well then clearly you have slow puncture or something, you dont honestly think that would be a common thing on a car do you?

not meaning to offend you or anything.

Cos,

Take a wheel off and lay it flat. Then pour a solution of water & washing up liquid over it. Then just watch carefully and you should be able to see the leak. If no sign then flip it over and do the other side.

If it's all four then my guess would be perishing tyres or valves and this would be seen through either the seal between the tyre & wheel or the valve itself.

Of course you could be really unlucky and have 4 traditional punctures !

Hi,

If they are stock wheels, they may have become porous with age....A refurbishment of your alloys will fix the problem...when they powder coat them.

Have you checked your valves?

The good old way of spitting in them and see if any bubbles come out.

Thanks guys. Looks like a visit to the tyre centre is coming on.
