Hey, i've finally found a nice swb n/a manual with leather interior that i really like the look of, the thing is it's an import and i'm only 19, is there anyone on here this age with reasonable insurance or can anyone point me in the direction of a decent insurer, most of them wont insure under 21/25's etc so its really annyoing especially when 1 comes along like this and i cant insure it!

I've also tried asking with my dad as the main driver and he's 52 with 10yrs+ no claims and they still say they cant insure me on it!

i've tried adrian flux, tesco, virgin, norwich union, and the place on the traders forum on here!

PLEASE HELP ME FIND A SOLUTION!!! :(

I struggled just to find good insurance quotes on an import. I use Central Direct, http://www.centraldirect.co.uk, they specialise in imports and young drivers. Telephone No is 0870 777 5565 ;)

TBH .. You will probably just wrap it round a tree anyways ... even if it is a NA ...

But if you can find anyone to insure you just be sure you take it easy until you get the feel of the car ... nothing worse than reading about another young person killled on the road ...

Good luck.

TBH i kinda value my life more than u may think ChrisP, I'm really more interested in the car for it's looks than performance at the moment.

But i understand where ur coming from with the young driver + fast car= Tree with zed scarf!

But thanks for the advice guys, I think i'll have to give up the ghost on this one!

was there ever a swb manual n/a produced in the uk?

was there ever a swb manual n/a produced in the uk?
No. Only 2+2 turbos.

Don't give up. I'm 24 with clean licence but no no claims.

with Admiral I got a 3 year no claims introductory bonus and a quote of £870 fully comp with £300 excess. I have a named driver on there as well. Mine's a 91 Import TT. So it's not impossible! ;)

Im not planning on giving up espec as it took me ages to make the parents think it would be a good idea to get one, and the old man loves the car now!

I think its basically down to the fact that im only 19 (almost 20) that they all dont wanna deal with me, its really gettin to me!

I havent tried admiral yet, ill try them 2moro, do u think its just a case of getting lucky with a company and they mite give me a nice quote or is it a fixed outcome?

I think im going for a test drive 2moro anyway just to get the feeling for the car!

Give Liverpool victoria a shout!

I'll see if i can find there number

ooooooof just got a quote from Liv victoria meself...... £307 with no mileage restrictions!

Humey, im 21 but bought my zed when i was 19. SWB manual N/A.

Im insured with hyperformance. Around 1500 tpft. They are a bunch of twats though.

Where dya find the Z? Where about in Scotland are u?

Is your zed an import scottywil? I'm from Kimlarnock, there's an import place near where I live and it's in there! i'm desperate to get it, gonna go now and see about a test drive!

Yeah, its an import. I live in Glasgow for half the year so gimmie a shout if you need any help. Ill be there this today and tomorrow too

I got insured with tesco at 20 with a manual uk tt 300 no probs I think there is one called http://www.confused.com if its any help

19 on an import will be difficult, 19 on a UK spec is hard enough

I use admiral, I am 22 now though, when i was 20 on a UK car insurance was about £2000 third party, its about £1000 now fully comp.
