hi guys i need help with a problem i have with my 300zx twin turbo,when i have it on boost for a while the temp gauge starts to rise it usually sits just below half way but after a few minutes of thrashing her it ends up around 3/4s up, the car is a 91 uk twin turbo manual with a jwt chip and running 1 bar of boost with 143k miles on her if that helps

sorry forgot to mention it smells of burnt oil when this happens but is fine when sitting in traffic etc

do you mean water temp

 

or oil pressure if oil pressure dont trust the stock gauge there crap

 

if you mean water temp then 3/4 is not going to blow your engine up!

 

could have an air lock in the systym try doing a coolant flush remove rad and put some clean water and the right ratio of water/coolant clean temp sender on top of inlet pipe,if you say its fine in traffic then i think you can rule out viscous fan ;)

hi greg, i did mean the water temp gauge sorry about that, i checked the fan and its turning no problems,i will try flush the radiator tomorrow and see if it helps, thanks for the advice
