Are these as common a problem as with the MR2's?

If so - is there an easy way to fix them?

Hi Dave,

Yes it's a common problem. A guy on Ebay is selling sachets of silicone gel which he reckons will cure this. I've bought some but I haven't had the chance to see if they work.

Ok, well there are a few cures on the MR2, I'll try to have a look see if they will work for the Z.

What other issues are there that i should look out for?

lol :P

I always find marmite works well, but dont spread it too thickly. Peanut butter is a quality fix as well ;-)

I've had some of the silicone grease off the guy from eBay (I would give you a link, but I can't find any on there at the mo :() and it works a treat. You just need to figure out where the water is getting through, and bung it full of this grease stuff - works a treat, no drips since ;) .

Petroleum jelly, yeh the stuff from the chemist.... instantly stops the leaks, then after its been dosed up for a few weeks, it seems to soak into the rubber and expand it so you no longer require its use for months there after. I've been using it on and off for about 5 years now. Last time required was just before Christmas 03.......handy for other things too !!!?????????

Get some proper black Permaseal. and think hard where to put it. The surfaces that need sealing are quite easy to figure out. It worked for me
