Hi Guys,

This has happened a few times, i have checked behind the drivers seat on the floor and its totally soaked. The seat's ect are fine, the roof doesn't even leak.

So anyone got any ideas where this water can be coming from?!

Cheers

Paul

Heater matrix? What behind the drivers seat? You're 'avin' a bubble ain't ya???

Heater matrix would be either passenger footwell where the drain tube that goes through the passenger footwell bulkhead or coolant from the drivers side footwell.

BEHIND the drivers seat though? The few times its happened, has it been when its rained heavily?

Watch the rear wheel arch on UK cars - for some reason the drivers side goes before the passenger side - seen this on 2 or 3 cars. The dreaded little bubble on the outside is a sign that its rotted through both skins into the inside of the arch.

Also the rain lately was pretty horendous and while driving I had the occasional drip onto my arm from the door seal and mines is bone dry inside.

No it's not really rained too much around here, the car is a import. Is it serious if its the heater matrix?

It's not your heater matrix!

There's no way the coolant will make its way to the back of the seat floor bud. It would be in either footwell. It will be a leak from somewhere! ......unless the footwell is so logged that its soaking through to the back?????? have you checked that? pretty unlikely though!

check the t top drainage holes, there are rear ones too ;)

Taste the water, :D does it taste like rain?

I thought my head gasket and heater matrix had gone once, i had a emulsified liquid in passenger footwell, it turned out to just be my leather seat polish dripiing from the glovebox :D

check the t top drainage holes, there are rear ones too ;)

Where would i find these drainage holes?

Paul

Hi Paul,

Remove to t roof and you'll see 2 small holes, 1 at the front (directly above the sun visor) and one in the same sort of place but towards the back. Does that make sense? Have a look at let me know if you can't see them :)
