Scubie, Although smoke of any colour can be worrying from what you say it is very likely you have a fuel mixture problem this can be the result of several causes, but in the main look at your service level i.e.. air filters, plugs etc but I would not discount air/ boost leak(s) The very nature of air leaks means they can change with any given condition, heat, air pressure, boost level etc., an leak will mess with the mixture as unmetered air is either drawn into the engine or metered air is lost from the engine.

Now I went in to some detail on a previous thread last week as to why air / boost leaks should be taken very seriously when fault finding all manner of running problems and yours is no exception, sadly the post was deleted as infringed some minor point ( not disclosed ) most likely because the day has a letter D in it? sure some one here can re-explain it without it getting nuked by the mods ( hopefully) which WILL help you with the problem, failing that ( dare I say it?) mail me and will explain all.
