First time I've really thrashed her

ok, came of m1 today onto a dualy, booted it in third (92 manual tt j spec)took her up to about 6250 - 6300 rpm and she seemed to loose a bit of power and splutter slightly, went on to around 6450 - 6500 and seemed to pick back up again on to 7000 odd, didn't dare go much further.

Looked in rear view mirror and saw a small amout of brownish smoke, is she slightly chocked up with carbon

I know she has a kph - mph convertor and delimiter but don't know if she's been chipped

any ideas guys ?

As I recall from some posts you put up earlier the history of the car is a little patchy right? not sure about how often and how well its been serviced? I'd do all the usual bits and bobs first if you haven't already, Oil Change (to a proper fully synth), fuel injector/engine cleaner fuel additive for a couple of tanks, Also check the air filter for junk/oil and that the pipes that feed it a clear. and give her a few good runs to see if it clears up! Then if it's still doing it or gets worse time to start worrying!

ok, to bring you all up to speed

had the car just over a month, first thing i did was change oil and filter, oil was mobil 1, thats gonna get replaced with silkolene pro-s stuff, cleaned TB's, adjusted tps and idle. Thats about it.

its probably carbon, seen a lot of zeds pulling away quick after a longish smooth drive and they usually deposit a similar small ammount of browny/black smoke

if you havnt driven it hard since cleaning TB's its probably some of the crap left inside making its way out.
