Hullo,

Following on from my recent spending spree I'm now after a HID conversion kit, I saw a group buy on here a while ago but couldnt find the seller on ebay :(

I'm a bit lost with all the bulb codes etc on some of the sites (im assuming its just the headlight bulbs that are replaced, not mainbeam?), has anybody recently bought and fitted one? where'd ya get it from and most importantly which kit!!!

Cheers, a Confused Dave

Alright mate, check out the thread I started here http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=37164&highlight=HID (which no-one seemed interested in! Lol!). The kit has arrived and it's being fitted tomorrow so going to post my findings then...oh...and it turned out to be a helluva lot cheaper than I originally thought!;)

Cool thanks, didnt spot that when I was searching, which bulb size was the kit your ordered? I look forward to hearing your results, if its good I'll order one!

Cheers

Dave

H3's on the 5300 Kelvin Kit. Think the group buy that took place a while back was for a kit using H7's which required a bit of work to get them to fit. These should be "plug and play" jobbies :)

Come on Leigh spill the beans, me wants happy34.gif

this sounds more like it, didn't fancy all the hassle that went with the H7 path

The kelvin rating just changes the colour of the light right? not the brightness. so stuff appears a bit sharper with some colours.

Basically, the higher the kelvin rating the bluer the light. The trade off being the higher them amount of kelvins the more usable light (lumens) you lose so you won't be able to see as far, hence why I went for the 5600K kit as TBH I ain't worried about what colour they are as long as I can see! :D

Had a suprise when they arrived, they'd marked them down as a gift (labelled "lamp toy" ) so I paid ZERO duty/tax! Which meant the entire kit+Heavy duty wiring loom+$25 shipping came to an unbelievable £197.55!!

Me and JD are fiting them tomorrow night so should know by then how good they are! Will definately post pics guys ;)

Bonus!! no tax! nice one!

Any idea where you gonna mount the little box of tricks to do the current conversion?

Sorry to say Leigh, but even gifts are taxed, you may get a bill through the post a month later as I did - hope not though!
