Tooth Brushes at the ready!!!

Ok,

Now I've never been one to be obsessed with keeping the underside of my bonnet obsenely clean. A quick steam clean and I'm happy.

However, after seeing Jeff's Platter of gleeming plastic, rubber and metal, it has left me some-what purturbed.

Therefore.....JEFF.....I have gone and purchased myself 3 tooth brushes and an obsene amount of kitchen towel and will be investing in some carb cleaner too.

Before I begin, does anyone have any other suggestions that could make me even more psychotically tapped?

yes that interests me as well.. what is actually involved in cleaning the skin under the bonnet smile.gif ?

Cos,

Now you know it makes sense to brush each day

in order to keep a nice and clean engine bay

But be very aware that it`s a long boring job

but the only way to join this mental zed mob

You`ll soon be done all gleaming and bright

and proudly show it off even at night!

Now thats obsesion. Jeff TT

Lots of hard work! the carb cleaner attacks the grime really well, then the tooth brush

gets the thick of it off. When you have got it all clean,a little car polish to finish off.

GOOD TIP!

Buy the carb and brake cleaner in 5ltr tins from the motor factors, not piddly little aerosol cans from Harry's.

As an alternative to carb and brake use automotive bodyclean, as used by paint refinnishers, cheaper still and it wount damage your paint, available from Brown Bros. and similar.

BEWARE! Some carb cleaner contain TOLUENE this will dissolve some paint finishes - use with extream caution - you have been warned!

Good luck

Tim

Wouldn't it dissolve your lungs as well?

Maciej

Very possibly.

It was Car Plan Carb cleaner I used and I threatned legal preceedings after it stripped the pain of my freshly painted Spitfire (Triumph).

No warnings on the cans etc. and there I was merrily spraying into the chokes on the twin sidedraft DellOrtos, as it dripped out it made some lovely runs in the orange paintwork - Not a happy bunny.

I haven't had any problems with bodyclean though and it seems to work just as well. Just different complex hydrocarbons I guess biggrin.gif
