my auto box was taking ages to change from 1st to 2nd. decided to try and adjust the tps but could not here the click so put it back where i marked it. went out for a test drive and 2nd gear was slipping like anything. if i applied more than a little throttle the car would rev and not go anywhere. conzult was showing she was in 2nd. is this summat to do with the tps or is it the bands on the gearbox. how easy is the gearbox to work on, can you drop a pan on it or is it a full rebuild.

marcus surely with a consult you should be able to see your TPS values 0.44v is spot on so anything majorly high or low of that value will alter the way the car accelarates and will probably feel as though the car is just free-revingand the car will feel jumpy possible cause :)

What does your autobox oil smell like ?? If the bands are going it will smell very burnt and start to go darker in colour. I know!! I had a box go on me then got another 2nd hand one that went after 1 week of fitting. In the end just got an SE box. No problems now...............fook ive said it now!!! watch this space. You could drop the pan and have a look at the filter; also you would see if there was the fine metal dust. Thats another sign of the clutch set going :(

it reads o.50v with ignition on and 0.52 when i start her. does she need to read 0.44 with ignition on or with engine running.

would this cause 2nd gear to slip.

to be honest mate 0.5v isent that out really will help if you can get it as close to 0.44 as pos but think your problems are gearbox related hope it isent to bad mate but do adjust TPS a fraction no harm in trying

how much these cars go for, spares or repair. exhaust must be worth a bit as its 3 months old and also has ss decats

There is a throttle cable adjustment page in tt.net - check that out and once you have adjusted everything, including any tps changes - try and get in spec - reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery for at least 30 mins.

If all that fails, change the fluid out, or make sure the fluid is at the right level with it all warmed up, running and in Neutral.
