mantav8 Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Matey of mine got aftermarket guages [auto-meter] and i was wondering where the best place to site the sender for oil temp,me i thought directly in the sump  but this is a bit impractical-so any other suggestions/experiances to get a true reading would be most appreciated, Cheers in advance. Guest Jeff TT Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Manta, above the oil filter on the drives side there is thread with a blank in which was wHere the oil pressure gauge sensor was fitted to 1989 models I would guess it would pick up oil temp there too but how representative of max oil temp not sure, the sump is the most acurate I guess, seem to remember that you could get a banjo type fitting some years ago and fit the sender into the sump plug then. mantav8 Posted August 23, 2004 Author Posted August 23, 2004 Cheers for that jeff, banjo in the d/plug sounds interesting as the sump oil seems the best place for a decent reading. ;) Quote
