Matey of mine got aftermarket guages [auto-meter] and i was wondering where the best place to site the sender for oil temp,me i thought directly in the sump  but this is a bit impractical-so any other suggestions/experiances

to get a true reading would be most appreciated,

Cheers in advance.

Manta, above the oil filter on the drives side there is thread with a blank in which was wHere the oil pressure gauge sensor was fitted to 1989 models I would guess it would pick up oil temp there too but how representative of max oil temp not sure, the sump is the most acurate I guess, seem to remember that you could get a banjo type fitting some years ago and fit the sender into the sump plug then.
