Just a bit of advice

CHROME wheels are for summer and show use ONLY

the big reason is expansion!

the chrome expands at a different rate the the wheel its coated on

heat from the brakes and cold rain on the wheels dont mix well

the chrome cracks and pops off :x:

you have been warned

hopefully before anyone spend a fortune on them to use all year

no offence m8 but not sure where you've got that one from m8?

jaguar have have using chrome wheels on e types for a lot of years with no problems, even the spinner to hold the wheel on is chrome, and they DO generate heat

yes if you dont look after them, like any weathered metal they ill pit etc

how many people have chrome bling under their bonnets, not exactly cool under there, unless you mean something else???

Mazda suffered this problem when they fitted chrome wheels to the MX5

they finally had to bite the bullet and replace the chrome wheels with different alloys

under warranty

Sounds like poor quality chrome to me, there are so many chromed parts around that are subject to heat that if this was a real problem it would be everywhere.

Probably Mazda being a bit cheap ;) Manufacturers are notorious for it - afterall, the Mk3 MR2 is notorious for having alloys that bubble (and then the paint coat just falls off!) - so notorious, in fact, that most dealers don't even blink when they change them under warranty..

And that's just normal alloys, nothing fancy..

i think the best reason for not going for chrome wheels is that they look ****
