Its no good.

It changes setting so that you cant get on certain sites making you use theirs. For example, when my sister went to AOL Hotmail stopped working as did a number of other site. Some pages would not display correctly unless you used the AOL broswer where they send themselves information about what you are looking at.

Id take aol's "free disc" and ram it where the sun dont shine from whence it came!

Once you put it on you'll spend AGES getting the original settings back to normal. DONT DONT DONT even put it near your PC!

just my humble opinion...

P

Like Jock, I have been an aol member for a very long time and the only problem I have is that they don't offer special deals to long term users.

What is weird is that my b/f uses aol at the moment and thinks it's pants.

We both use aol at home using our own computers, but using the same line to dial up (obviously not at the same time). He gets disconnected on a frequent basis and finds it very slow.

He is changing to broadband soon, not with aol.

I think that the computers cause a lot of the problems. I won't change from aol as I like the instant message function and that everyone knows my email addy, as I have had it for what seems like forever.

Women eh! they know as much about ISP's as they do cars ;) only jokin!

:D

There are IM clients that let you use your aol IM and multiple others at the same time in one client.

i.e. http://www.webattack.com/get/trillian.shtml

Go with Pipex, use them at both home and work and anywhere else I have been asked to supply an internet connection, superb.

They even phone you to tell you that the line is down if it ever does go down. You don't have to do anything. Very reliable and instant support is available.

Olly.

My mrs is an 'internet director' (sounds better than it is!)

She says AOL are 'the Great Satan' of the internet.
