Removing black exterior strip middle of targa

How do I do this? I want to replace it.

Hi Mate

I replaced this with a new one from Nissan - £68. Really makes a difference as the old one had flaked away to nothing and looked crap.

If I remember rightly it was just a couple of nuts and bolts on either side but you had to remove the interior trim to do it. Not difficult though.

you have to drop the roof lining then there is 8 x 10mm nuts to remove and pull it up, mine had some sealant under it so took a bit of gentle tugging and it was off, took about an hour to do, not hard at all.

Thanks Mark & Suffolk.

Mark, do you have the part number for the Nissan part still?

Thanks

Mooch, take a look at THIS LINK , it'll show you everything you need regarding the strips, also includes the part numbers.

Thanks for all replies. Know what I'm doing now.

Dave - I've been through your guide pages twice and still see no mention of the centre targa strip. This is the plastic strip that runs down the centre of the vehicle between the T-Tops.

Anyway, I've got the picture now. It seems I may need to drop the roof lining but only locally, from ABOVE, to get at the bottom of the retainer bolts. I won't need to take the whole lining off from inside.
