remove plenum today managed to not break any thing including any rubber hoses......still cant find water leak.....it leaks before it gets to the matrix hoses as no water comes out of them and water is pouring out of the bellhousing still ......??

i have plugged all other water lines and i cant see this leak????

is there a chance it is UNDER the Lower Intake????? Or would it be one off the core plugs as this leak started when my zed was hot after a long drive down the motorway......it pours out of the bellhousing like water out of a tap and thats without the engine running......and it looks like cam belt off time as the intake manifold looks like it has a cam belt idlier pulley bolted to it??

There aren't any water pipes that go into the bell housing.

Have you checked the pipes check go into the back of the block, these could be leaking, but these are metal pipes IIRC.

no there are no pipes going into the bell housing but there are core plugs behind the flywheel as i have seen these on the back of a zed engine before when i removed a gearbox off a previous zed i used to own.....

i am just wondering if one of these have corroded or popped out under pressure when hot........has anyone here had a core plug go at any time as i want to avoid dropping the box and i need to eliminate what it could be.....even if there was a hose leaking on the back of the engine it would possibly only drip through the bellhousing not pour through like a running tap as the gearbox and engine have a plate between the two and i cant see any water sitting or pouring onto the top of the bellhousing from above so the leak must be from the back of the block or core plug!??

Andy, there are some small rubber hoses on the back of the block, just above the bellhousing. One of mine went, a short 2 inch length of pipe with a pin prick hole. A reet b*stard to replace.

Jack up your motor, start the engine and see where it comes out from.

Good luck!

Mate i have already done this and the water/coolant is pouring out of the drain hole at the bottom of the gearbox bellhousing (pouring untill system is nearly empty/dry)

there is a water pipe that runs under the lower intake from the front to the rear of the engine connects on to the metal pipes which go to the matrix etc might be worth having a look at although its a biatch to get the lower intake off with all the pipes at the rear in place without bending the cover behind the cam sprockets. never seen a core plug go before , well have seen one pop in winter but that's it

could be a core plug, i had an calibre turbo and was driving along quite happily then temp gauge shot through the roof, when i puled over couldn't see what was wrong, had it towed home by AA and had a feel around the bock of engine sure enough core plug caroded and popped out, needed a new head gasket and head skim as well after that. expensive!! so to sum up yes it could be a core plug as there are no tell tail warning for these one minuet they are fine the next you have water pi**ing out everywhere, even when the engine is off!!

Sorry to be the barer of bad news hope it's not for your sake as you'll need a second morgage to sort it out!
