Got my renewal today for my Aprilia RSV ® millie....ferking over 500 quid!!!!

Now I am an oldish git with full no claims and dont do a lot of miles on it (its a toy), its the same as last year and I havent crashed (so if u ask me it should be cheaper?) WTF?????

Not many people insure theese I guess so if anyone can give me any ideas of someone cheaper than Norwich Union?

 

Do you think I could get a discount from Houghtons on the strength of being a member of this??

Have you checked http://www.wickedquotes.com out ?? ;) get the phone number and ring them, Also try looking (bike sure) up and give Bennetts a ring in Coventry..sorry not got the number cos im not at work.

Also keep in mind Aprilia have gone into liquidation so insurance companies know bit will be well hard to source:(

Carol Nash quoted 427 for the Millie R, Motorcycle Direct said 407 with the same underwriter/excess etc (WTF?).

Called Carol Nash back and did a bit of a deal with them...lower excess lower premium 413 fully comp..not bad by my reckoning..

Carole Nash are great.

You'll never cover one of them cheap... but it's always worth haggling.

 

i think having insured 20 bikes and three cars, I've NEVER had a renewal quote less than the previous year. So you have to ring around..... again... and find a lower quote... and then your original company will match it.

 

I think they all just try it on every year by adding about 20% on and hoping you pay it.
