i was going down a country road last nite and when i put my foot down the car just totally cut out, eng stops, lights on dash came on the lot. after i check the usual (coils, injectors, ptu) i tried starting her up but she aint firing at all, called the AA and after 2 hours he turned up and didnt have a clue. got towed home and left her standing all night but still no luck this morning. pulled out spark and did test to find no sparking so i then checked cas but still no change. need help with this one please! :bow:

Sounds like a PTU prob if there's no spark , anybody local to you that has a spare you can try ??

might want to check the connection are ok to and from it

Well I've been told they never go wrong. So maybe the engine side wiring to it?

could be the AFM, same prob with mine- but mine started again after a day then cut out then started again/erratic idling. could you borrow one to see if it`s that??

Ok, first steps first, ECU diagnostic?

Yep as Duffer say ECU check. Then check coil pack relay (in main fuse box under bonnet).

 

Then Ptu etc.

yep already done ecu and got 'All clear' reading. checked ptu already. right skull fu***r this one!
