prop i think

hi i've got another prob.my car vibrates at 40mph upwards.it feels as though i'm sitting on top of the vibration.it does it most of the time but not always.i've had my wheels balanced and my tracking checked but my front tyres seem to wear out evenly but quite quickly.could the vibrating be the prop and could that contribute to the quick front tyre wear??thanks.

When you had your wheels balanced did it seem to improve then get bad again? I just had an odd experience where it did just that, so I was expecting it to be the prop bearing or g/box mount. Just to rule balancing out I went back to the tyre place just to make sure the weights hadn't fallen off. They hadn't, but when they checked it again it wasn't balanced right!

How can wheels be balanced ok, then become unbalanced without losing the weights? (Confuuuuused... dot com  )

Anyway, they rebalanced it and it's loads better, but there does still seem to be a faint vibration between 40 and 50, so I may yet have something to fix...

yeah had the wheels re balanced and still the same.my main concern is can worn prop bearings contribute to my front tyres wearing out quick because tracking etc is all ok but the fronts are wearing a lot faster than the rears?????

fronts will always wear faster cos your turning the tyre on the raod all the time.

LOL i go through two pairs of rears for every one pair of fronts on the zed :D

Lighting up the rears a lot are we?

nah have traction control :p

nah have traction control :p

And rear tyres made of playdough from the sound of it ;)

Am I alone in getting more ware from the front tyres then? Always thought thats how it should be?
