Antenna removal problem

Hi folks,

My anntena has died on me. The motor works but the aerial doesn't go up (oooooh eeeerrrrr). I've managed to completely disconnect the antenna and motor from the car except for a plastic pipe which is connected to the car's underside. The antenna won't disconnect from the motor housing neither. WTF?

I've no idea what the clear plastic pipe is and whether I should/can disconnect it.

Any ideas will be appreciated 'cause I'm stumped.

Until then my Z is manual.....aerial that is LOL.

Oh, my Z is a '91 UK TT Auto if this helps.

Cheerz,

Van

The plastic pipe is connected to a rubber grommet that

leads the water out.

Reach all the way down there with your hand and

pull/pry on the rubber.

It's soft and should come off easily.

Did you remove the screws holding the antenna assembly from outside?

Maciej

Maciej,

Cheers m8. Yes I removed the two screws from the outside which kept the antenna in place.

......bloody waterpipe...d'oh.

Any ideas why the mast won't disconnect from the housing?

Laterz,

Van

You have to operate the motor to get the mast out and in.

Connect 12V to its connector.

Take a look at page EL-96 (Electrical system) in the service manual

for a short description.
