Guys, does anyone elses rear hatch annoy the fVck out of them when driving along bumpy road, mines squeeks like you wouldnt believe...... :mac1:

I think its something to do with the u-bar and lock mechanism but I havent started to investigate yet, although my frustration is bringing me closer to it!!!

I just end up turning the stereo up, not good though when ur taking your mum to the shops! :D

Anyone else got this noise?

make sure its adjusted correctly (nice & tight) then wrap some insulation tape around the metal catch on the tailgate :)

Spot of vaseline or grease on the lock clasp helps too. But like the man says adjust the part on the body - you have to take off the trim panel to get at the bolts

I met up with PhilD from here the other day, to collect something from him. He opened the boot and there was two 2pence pieces far left and right, directly where the boot robber mounts close onto the body. He said that stopped his squeeking!

If the locking mechanism is loose (like mine was) get three new bolts, adjust and tighten the locking mechanism and your sorted.

James! Don't go giving away my expensive, Top Secret Mods!

It was a last resort for me as my lock mechanism was lower than a Supra owners IQ and greasier than his boyfriends backside . Just need to gaffer tape them in place, which I'm saving up for.
